Interview with Dunan Kandra, embodiment coach and dancer

Please meet the very lovely and incredibly thoughtful Dunan Kandra (pronounced: dune-en kahn-dra), an embodiment coach and dancer.

In this month’s interview, Kandra and I talk about how white-patriarchal masculinity inhibits physical and emotional expression in boys and men, limiting their capacity to experience the world fully. Kandra also discusses the Cartesian Split and suggests ways to avoid it.

Kandra (They/She) identifies as a white, transfeminine genderqueer human.

They/She helps people uncover stuck emotions and socialized patterns, while also bringing more embodied practices, breathwork, and meditation into their day-to-day lives. They/She is passionate about working with white men to examine embodied white supremacist patriarchy. They/She alkso works with queer folx who are discovering their own embodiment in this very confusing society. Kandra is currently accepting clients for one-on-one work and also leading group sessions for men's groups and other communities.

They/She is also about to launch a book club to work through Resmaa Menakem's new book, Quaking in America. For more information: www: dunankandra.com and IG: dunan_kandra
