Curricula

Paul and I spent the summer working on the curricula.

I’m a pretty intuitive thinker/feeler/processor. “This exercise seems like it would be good, I’ll put it here. This exercise seems like it would follow that one.”

Paul is very process-oriented. He wants to know what and why.

He was able to take my first drafts of Stage One and Stage Two and identify what the exercises were teaching and why, helping us to create a more conscious arc for each eight-week session.

Our exercises will help boys…

Center - Access an open mind and heart necessary to play, cooperate and learn.

Identify - Know and name the emotions you’re feeling and what others are feeling.

Express - Find appropriate ways to tell others how you feel.

Regulate - Adjust your emotions, meaning: find ways to calm down or rise up, depending on what is required.

Relate - Read body language, respect boundaries, understand how to connect to others and build lasting friendships.

This scaffolding directed our process moving forward.

Thank you, Paul!
